The Northern Iowa Wishmakers
The Northern Iowa Wishmakers is a group on UNI's campus that I was a part of for two years. The Northern Iowa Wishmakers is a student organization that works in many ways to enrich the life experience of children who are suffering from life threatening illnesses. They change lives by hosting fundraising events with the proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish Iowa Foundation. The children are tirelessly fighting day and day out to stay alive. They are put through experiences that no one would want to go through. This organization puts life back in their sights by giving them their one true dream. They do this by putting on various events through out the year; Fall-into-Wishes, Flippin'-for-Wishes and Swishes-for-Wishes. They also put on smaller fundraising events to spread awareness and earn a little money as well. We advocate for these children and we act as a voice for them so they do not have to live their live in fear. I was one of the Co-Directors for two years and I loved every minute of it. They had the privilege to meet the child we granted a wish for this past year. His name was Ray and he had the privilege of going to the Dominican Republic because of the money we raised that past academic year. Below are some picture from our end of the year party that we put on for Ray and his family.
Flash mob at my first job in Stanton Iowa
Here is a video I am proud and maybe embarrassed to show about myself from my first job in Stanton Iowa. This was a humbling experience where I had the privilege to meet many great people and students. Of course, everyone by now should be tired of hearing "Whip and Nae-Nae" but seeing this may change your mind...
